Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Teaching - Graduate Course
Successful completion of this course will fulfill CDE’s recertification requirement of 45 clock hours (3 credits) of English learner professional development.
In Maya Angelou’s words, “In diversity there is beauty and there is strength.” Today, U.S. schools are more diverse than ever. Culturally and Linguistically (CLD) Responsive teaching strategies can help us embrace the beauty and strength of our diverse classrooms by intentionally supporting, challenging, and forging relationships with students from all backgrounds. In this course, educators will:
Explore essential and up-to-date research on CLD learners and teaching strategies
Reflect on their own cultural identity and implicit biases
Design a culturally and linguistically responsive learning experience that can be used in the classroom tomorrow!
Successful Completion of this course will result in 3 Graduate Credits from CSU Pueblo.
